The following are the places of interest in Bongaon

1. Petrapole International Border : Petrapole is the Indian side of Petrapole-Benapole border checkpoint between India and Benapole of Bangladesh, on the Bangladesh-India border, near Bongaon in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. Petrapole border is the only land port in south Bengal. It is also the largest land customs station in Asia.

2. Parmadan Forest: Bibhutibhusan Wildlife Sanctuary (formerly Parmadan Forest) is an animal sanctuary near Bongaon in North 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

3. Satbhai Kalitala : This temple is nearly 400 year old. it's a very easy related to local people's history and creates a traditional vibe among the place. This growing village is on the border of Bangladesh and named after the famous Kali Mandir of this place.

4. Bibhuti Bhusan House, Gopalnagar : The house of Bibhuti Bhusan Bandopadhyay is located in Gopalnagar of Bongaon sub-division. Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay was one of the stalwarts of Bengali literature and a noted Bengali novelist of the post - Rabindranath era.

5. Bibhuti Bhusan Park, Gopalnagar : This park is made at the birth place of renowned bengali writer Bibhutibhusan Bandhopadhay. It is on the river bank of Ichamati. There is a hanging bride made of iron.

6. Thakurnagar Matua Dham : This is the temple of Matua community. Jay Hari Bol
This community worships Hari Chand and Guru Chand as their God.

7. Berigopalpur Baor : Berigopalpur Baur is a natural lake located in Panchpota, North 24 Parganas. Originally Ichamati river created U shape lake.This lake is home to many birds, the island has the Ramakrishna Ashram where only girls are taught.

8. Duma Baor : Duma Boar is a very large lake in Chandpara, Bongaon, North 24 Parganas. It is a very beautiful place to visit and enjoy picnic.A must visit place from Kolkata for a one day trip and enjoy boat riding on the clear water of the Baor.

9. Ganrapota Kalibari : The Historical temple founded in 1585 by Pratapaditya Roy, son of King Bikramaditya of Jessore. Sri Sri Siddheswari Kali Mandir Ganrapota Kalibari has by now established itself as one of the prominent religious and cultural centres.It is heard that during the battle with the Britishers, Bhabani Pathak and Devi Chowdhurani are come to take blessed from the goddess. The old broken temple has been renovating since 2009, in the shape of the temple as like the Dakshineswar’s Maa Vabhratini temple.

10. Chhaigharia Church: It is a very popular Church in local area.
